JAMES LEVOY SORENSON
July 30, 1921 - January 20, 2008

Utah Chamber Artists mourns the passing of one of our most devoted supporters and friends.   From the very beginnings of Utah Chamber Artists, James LeVoy Sorenson has played a profound role in our success. In 1991, Barlow Bradford and James Lee Sorenson, Mr. Sorenson's son, founded Utah Chamber Artists and thus began our ensemble's association with the entire Sorenson family.

Mr. Sorenson not only supported our organization financially, but he and his wife Beverley became loyal members of our audience.   They even traveled with choir in 1996 as we toured Israel with the Israel Chamber Orchestra.   Mr. Sorenson loved music and became a long-time collaborator of our Artistic Director, Barlow Bradford.   Together they produced a number of songs that resulted in UCA's recording, “Hymns of Reflection.”   Utah Chamber Artists has been honored to participate in several community tributes to Mr. Sorenson and recently took part in his memorial service.

We will miss Mr. Sorenson's presence at our events, his winning smile, and his enthusiasm for our music.   The musicians and board members of Utah Chamber Artists extend our sincere condolences to all of the Sorenson family.
